I agree but then again i dunno if i'd call TBS pop punk... heck i dont know what i would call them.

Taking Back Sunday's more pop-punk than anything else.

So, ya. That one's damn good.

I also approve of Take This To Your Grave.

Too lazy to come up with a clever or relevant sig.

thank god someone posted this. the only record that could challenge this is northstar's pollyanna. yfw wasn't better than either of those and the other two brand new records aren't really pop-punk, so tayf is pretty much the winner.

I strongly recommend that you check out Say Anything's ...Is A Real Boy before you come to any conclusions. But TAYF is definitely up there.

I think that album is basically the essence of this entire subforum.

Max Bemis is trash though.. I did check it out actually (and several of their other records, a few of my friends like them). All of the songs just bore me.

to the post above mine:

The Superior ALK3 record.

I think Armageddon is probably their best song.

i've listened to and loved it, but it'll never be tayf, like lordofthefood said, tayf is like the entire essence of this subforum.

FHTI was probably my least favorite of all their albums.

Well, not counting Agony and Irony. The ****pile doesn't even count.

But from everything else...FHTI was their most radio-friendly, and their lyrics were the worst there too. Half the songs just focused on rhyming rather than meaning something (Trucks and Trains was a nice one to break that mold, though).

So I say definitely not.

idk, Crimson and Good Mourning are pretty much equal to me

for me at least, on FHTI, I love Armageddon, Private Eye, Mr. Chainsaw, Stupid Kid, Crawl, Trucks and Trains, I'm Dying Tomorrow. I like most of the album, but those stand out the most to me. I think Dan's best songs are on it.

I like Good Mourning, but a lot of the songs just seem very similar to each other musically (over half of the songs begin with a similar sounding guitar part (whether the notes are similar are not isn't what I'm getting at)). Plus, I can't stand Every Thug Needs A Lady and Blue In The Face. I don't like ALK for those types of songs, I like them for rocking out.

I'd probably like the first three albums better, but I just haven't listened to them that much.

at least we agree on A&I, that album is rubbish.

The Good Mourning demos are much better than the actual album. Also I prefer FHTI, but my most listened to ALK3 album is Goddammit.

I don't believe I have those (I need to look for them I guess).

Like I said, I'd probably like the eariler ALK3 albums, I just haven't gave them enough listens.

They're on a Bsides blog that I had bookmarked on my old computer, so I don't have the link anymore. I'll look for it and PM you the link if I find it.

The only one I listened to when I was a kid that I still can. Says a lot, cuz I'm on year 7 with that album now.
