i wanted to get a new 7 string to replace my C7FR and i was thinking of either an RC7X, my friend has one and it's pretty darn nice but there's something about it that i can't put my finger on that makes me iffy about buying it, or an ESP LTD SC-607B (would rather have the 25.5" scale one tho).

Anyway, i dont want to have someone else's signature on my guitar (even if it is a signature guitar, unless i'm the one who gets it signed by the actual guitarist not a factory print.). So is there anyway that i could remove and/or cover up the SRC signature?

I would much rather have a nice esp 7 over a dean 7 (unless its the actual USA RC7, but that costs way too much). Also looking for an H-307/H-207 if anyone is selling.

when luthiers need to fix imperfections in for example a rosewood fretboard they make a mix of rosewood and glue. It's not going to look bad, but a proper look will reveal that something is done there, but you could try peeling out the inlays and possibly the frets and stuffing that mix in there and sand the excess glue off. Imo its not worth the hassle though.

it's not an inlay, it's just a signature

No, it's an inlay in the form of a signature.
A painted rosewood fretboard wouldn't be the best idea.

just get it. 1 inch of inly will not really affect how cool you look. your bat summoning solos will distract them anyways.

I wouldn't call what we have here on the Bass Forum a mentality. It's more like the sharing part of an AA meeting.

i really dont care about looking cool, it's just that i don't particularly like the deftones, but i like ESP guitars and 7 strings. I would much rather have an H-307... they're so much better looking anyway.

Hey- give credit where credit is due- the guy commissioned a decent guitar model...just because you don't like his band doesn't mean his guitar sucks...I'd just leave it alone or look into the Ibanez 7 stringers

when did i say the guitar sucks? i just dont like the signature being there. And i dont really like ibanez guitars other than their necks.

so you gonna buy a signature model and remove the signature?

yeah, i dont want the signature of someone i dont like on my guitar. if esp didn't stop making the H-307 or 207 i would've gotten that.

+1 to agile too. And they're fairly affordable.
Then there's this band called Slice The Cake...

Bunch of faggots putting random riffs together and calling it "progressive" deathcore.
Stupid name.
Probably picked "for teh lulz"

I can understand you not wanting the signature.

But you can either take it to a luthier, guitar tech, etc., and see if they can remove the inly with something else.
Or you can buy a guitar inlay sticker, so the specialised stickers go over the inlay.

However, if I'm completely honest with you, to me, it just looks like the model name of the guitar on the inlay. It doesn't look like a signature to me. So, you can just leave it and no one will notice. I mean, I'd happily use the guitar.

And even if they do notice, every Gibson Les Paul has Les Paul's signature on it. It's not a problem.

actually, i didn't see the Interceptor Pro 27 Black Flame (http://www.rondomusic.com/interceptorprobkflm.html), last time i looked. This would actually be perfect. Necks a little thick but that's not really a problem.

thanks for the guy's who suggested agile's.

now if someone could just lock this up...
