I searched and there was an old thread but it was terrible so here I go again. Lock this if I should've asked in the rec thread...

What are some sweet metal songs for working out? Has to be high tempo obviously with preferably no clean/slow breaks. No brutal death please, but some death metal like Immortal Rites is alright.

I have a decent mix of melodeath, thrash and power metal. Here's the list I used yesterday, in no particular order, to give you guys some

ATG - Slaughter of the Soul
Demolition Hammer - Skull Fracturing Nightmare
Sepultura - Arise
Sadus - Certain Death
Children of Bodom - Hellhounds
Exodus - Toxic Waltz
Morbid Angel - Immortal Rites
Testament - Into the Pit, DNR
Ensiferum - Iron
Dark Tranquillity - Through Smudged Lenses
Blind Guardian - Another Holy War
Pantera - Mouth For War
Skeletonwitch - Upon Wings of Black, Beyond the Permafrost
Symphony X - Of Sins and Shadows
Wintersun - Winter Madness

You get the point...thanks!

For me, I just listen to lots and lots of US Power Metal when I am.

Twisted Tower Dire's "Crest of the Martyr's" works perfect for me.

When I was really into cycling, I used to go for 50-100 mile rides. 50 mile ride = 3 hours of cycling. 100 mile ride = 6 1/2 to 7 hours of cycling. I used to listen to the entire Ozzy-Sab discography for those times.

But usually, some good pumpin music will do it. Albums:

Hate Eternal - King of All Kings
Black Sabbath - Dehumanizer
Death - The Sound of Perseverance
Megadeth - Countdown to Extinction
Blind Guardian - A Night At the Opera
Judas Priest - Angel of Retribution
Judas Priest - Painkiller
Candlemass - Epicus Doomicus Metallicus
Candlemass - Nightfall
The Monolith Deathcult - Trivmvirate
Jethro Tull - Thick As A Brick
Jehtro Tull - Aqualung
Rush - 2112
Rush - Permanent Waves (omg Jacobs Ladder and Natural Science are secks)
Modest Mouse - The Moon and Antarctica
Modest Mouse - Good News For People Who Love Bad News
Mogwai - Happy Songs for Happy People
The Sea and Cake discography
ISIS discography

I can go on forever. I usually listen to whatever I'm feeling like at the moment.

Ooh, Vader could be really good, esp. Dark Age.
Tried Khomaniac a few days ago and it was kickass as usual until it got to the middle section...but the song is so good that I made it through haha. Some of the new Artillery might also work.

HelloHalo: Power metal is great for working out! Also works as a good break from the constant heavy thrash.

The Showdown seems like mediocre groove...not really my thing.
EDIT: Shiiiiet, I forgot about Painkiller! Well I'm out to work out...peace.

Keep the recs coming. Thanks everyone.

The point of underground bands is their not popular or famous most of the time. Thus there is a good chance they suck.

Albums like The Years of Decay are exactly what I'm trying to avoid.

But for the most part, cheers for the recs. By the way, Hell Patrol and Bestial Invasion were intense today!!

darkstar, you have some weird ass workout music taste. I ****ing love Dehumanizer but if I had to work out to that I'd go insane.

Incantation - Blasphemous Creamation

The other day I was doing some of my tendinitis exercises and this song came on. As soon as the breakdown hit, I swear to god my arms were moving so fast I could have achieved lift off.
Glance into my eyes
and see the darkest shadows dancing
Playing in the desert of my life
Burning, -
and my soul is descending...

Depeche Mode - Just Can't Get Enough.

Appropriately named, because I just can't get enough exercise!
Dyer's Eve is awesome, and has an abnormally large penis, which doesn't act as any hinderance to his everyday life despite its freakishly large size.

King of Kumbucha actually recommended me some grind and brutal slam stuff for workouts, especially lifting weights, and I find that the music really works well with me. I think Devourment is ideal.
