Hey, in a few weeks I have to perform a medley of 60's songs at my schools production and I was wondering what songs would be good to play. I've already considered the obvious ie; Sunshine of Your Love, Satisfaction, Purple Haze etc.
My skill level is intermediate to semi-advanced. I have about 5 minutes of time to play.

Thanks in advance.

The Stones, The Beatles, Zeppelin, The Doors, The Who, The Beach Boys and Hendrix

They're a good place to start

Since your doing popular songs..

Ohio by CSNY (early 70's, but it's a 60's band so you should get away with it)
Somebody to Love or White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane
Light my Fire or Break on Through by the Doors
Communication Breakdown or Good Times, Bad Times by Zeppelin
Last Train to Clarksville, or maybe even I'm a Believer by the Monkees

Thanks for your replies. I was thinking of doing some Doors but what?? The only Doors songs I can play are LA Woman, Roadhouse Blues and Love Me Two Times.

Love Me Two Times is more recognizable because of Guitar Hero, and it's got a cooler riff to it also

If you're going to do a Doors song, I recommend "Five to One". Also:

Astronomy Domine - Pink Floyd
NSU - Cream
Subterranean Homesick Blues - Bob Dylan

Among many others.

lots of good surf music
hippy hippy shake (cover) by the swinging blue jeans
hot smoke and sassafrass by bubble puppy

shadows of knight, small faces, the turtles
my dads uncle was in a cool band called teddy & the pandas

all good stuff, try to find some good easy ones that go together well

Revolution 9.

you should check out the "creepy songs" thread.

Anyways, I'd say, go for one of the most popular songs by the beatles..."I Want to Hold Your Hand". Just about everyone knows this one.

But for Doors...what about Break on Through (to the other side)? That one is fairly well known.

also, Fenderhippie, you have a great song title in your signature....towards the top...yes, Happiness is a Warm Gun. Amazing Song.
