Back story: im going off to college and AM taking my tube combo with me (see sig for more info)

So I am currently in the market for buying an attenuator for my tube amp (buying a SS has been recommended to me before, but i just love my amp too damn much)

Which attenuator would you all recommend?

thanks!

I'd go with the Weber. They are the same quality, but I find them to sound better when attenuating. You also have switchable impedances, which is VERY practical.

i just bought a used Weber Mass Lite 50 watter for my 38 watt combo and I was really impressed. Made my amp like 300% more usable in different situations and rooms/venues. Great product and a hell of a lot cheaper than the THD hotplate or the Dr. Z brake lite i was going to get. I got it used for $50, new i think its like $75 new. an attenuator that can handle double the wattage of your amp is recommended so I'd go for the 100 watter if I were you just as a precaution. I did find that I had to use the treble switch on the attenuator to restore my tone back to its state before I used the attenuator. the 3dB setting for treble was enough for me

This, but you can accomplish the same thing for less with a Weber MASS/Hotplate and a Crate Power Block.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion.

Feel free to express yours so I can make an informed judgement about how stupid you are.

I think the Ho is about $400. not sure if it's the best (i haven't tried them all), but it's pretty sweet. Looked at it when I had my windsor, couldn't justify the cost for that amp. But if i ever get a hi-watt or slo100 the ho will certainly be built into the cost.
