Okay. I FINALLY have enough money.
Now, it's time for a new amp.

I want to spend about $350-600 On an amp.
A GOOD ONE!
I play all sorts of music.
I LIKE using pedals, so it has to be good with pedals and distortion.
I also have two speakers. 200w each...They're actually NOT guitar speakers.
But I can hook them up to my current 35w amp by uing a cord that plugs into the Headphone jack and converts into the RED WHITE YELLOW audio thing like from DVD players, that end hooks up to the Speaker Head which goes out to the speakers.

I would like a relatively louder amp...Good for gigs in small-medium sized venues.

I looked at the Peavy Windsor
And found a USED Fender Twin Tube Amp for $650...

Is the Twin a good deal?
What other amps are great!

Also Here's my pedal list... STARS mean I currently own...

Boss DS-1***
Boss SD-1***
Ibanez C9-Stereo Chorus
Ibanez FL-9 Flanger
Boss DD-20 Giga Delay (for looping)
Boss NS-2 Noise Suppressor
And maybe a Reverb or Temeolo....

I play s SCHECTER OMEN
And am getting a Fender Jaguar...

So A) Which Amp? The Peavy? The Win? Other?
B) Is that a decent pedal board list? Any that DON'T Go well together, or are pointless? Anything else I NEED?

I NEED HELP!
Thanks!

What do you plan to play the most witth it, cause "I play all sort of things" isn't very relevant. I''m not gonna suggest you the windsor and if you wanna blues or soft rock with the amp, and I'm not gonna suggest you the twin if you wanna play mostly death metal, you get it?
So just give us an idea of main genre.
That said, both amps are great, personnally, I would buy thte Twin, but like I said, it depends on what you will play mostly, cause theyre both very differents amps

How much are those? Plus, like explain more of Modelling amps...And why they don't need pedals?

Because they have plenty of built-in effects in them

Can you be more descriptive?

wat

I guess for now, they would work, as if it seems like they won't clip too bad, but make sure you get some proper speakers later down the line.

I would like a relatively louder amp...Good for gigs in small-medium sized venues.

If you go tube, you'll only need 10-20w for gigs, especially if you're miked.

And found a USED Fender Twin Tube Amp for $650...

It's pretty good, although you could do better.

What other amps are great!

Blackstar HT-5
Peavey Valveking
Vox AC15
Peavey Classic 30
Fender Blues Junior
Epiphone Blues Custom

Not bad, should work for now.

Well, for those bands, maybe the Windsor would be better, but a Twin with a good distortion pedal (not the DS 1) can do those as well, and it will have better cleans. I can get convincing Muse tones through my Fender with my Fulltone DP 1, so its up to you, try both and chose yourself, cause I think you'll be happy with both really

The Windsor is about $400? Correct? Whereas the Twin was $650 USED....How does that weigh out?

I'd want an amp that had good cleans. Because some songs I like clean and then turn on my pedals for some distortion. Like I like really distorted fast heavy stuff and then I'll tone it down turn off a couple pedals and have it softer...

The Twin has good cleans, the Windsor has barely any, if not, none. The Twin has quality speakers (assuming they weren't changed), the Windsors don't have very good cabs.

I would get the Twin, or get a Peavey Classic 30 (good cleans, good overdrive, takes pedals well).

Sorry, don't know about the Canadian price. If it somehow helps, it's $600 in the U.S.

Unless he wants to stay clean, or wants edgy overdrive. There is a reason for 100+ watt tube heads, believe it or not.

Okay, I'm sorry but I need to comment on this.

You're all being pretty damn stupid...

He is rambling on about connecting speakers that are not guitar speakers to an amp using RCA CABLES... Does anyone see anything wrong with that? or are you all going to recommend him twin reverbs to him so he can blow his tube amp up...

TS: you should do some reading about guitar speakers, you can't just plug random speakers into an amp, you need to match the ohm's correctly and use an adequate connection (an RCA cable is not one, speaker wire can handle a much larger load)

I would suggest some sort of combo modeling amp to you, until you figure out what you're doing... Try the vox valvetronix series, or the peavey vypr. Don't spend too much money until you know what you want, not what we want for you. These modeling amps will give you an idea of what effects and types of amps you'll want in the future.
