I'm thinking of going to lower gauge strings on my '08 MiM strat, but I was wondering if I'd have to adjust the springs or Tremelo or anything.

So it wouldn't be completely necessary to change/adjust the springs at all if I went to a lighter gauge?

Well it'd be easier to press down on the tremolo.
Breaking stereotypes by playing indie on a metal guitar.

Well, like an idiot I didn't google it... Since lighter gauge strings will have different tension, I'll have to tweak the springs.

Not really but like it depends on how you currently have your bridge set up. Some have the 6 screw trem's to 'float' while others have their's sitting on the guitar's body. So if you still like to have your bridge float then you may need to adjust the springs but if you like to have it on the guitar body then you are safe and don't really need to touch the springs.
