Could some one give me an example of what it could play? Like genres.

My advice:

Work the other way...

What do you want to play? Influences?

Yes squiers are good starter basses.

Any bass can be used to play any genre. In some cases you may look silly (playing jazz with a BC Rich, etc) but you can still do it.

Yeah, I played one at the shop the other day, and it sounded and played good. I'd say it can play about anything, since it doesn't really have any characteristics to limit itself to certain music.

Actually I saw a guy playing Superstition with a BC Rich emulating bass (not a copy, just similar in style) , and it looked badass!

Ok, it did look out of place but it was still badass!
