I'm in the market for a new guitar, and want a nice one, but probably will go used so I don't have to pay a fortune. It's possible/likely that the guitar I buy will have some minor scratches or a couple small paint chips...things of that nature.

The question is...about how much would it run me to get the guitar refinished or touched up? I take really good care of my guitars, and though sound and playability is most important to me, aesthetics are also important as well. Thanks.

A simple refinishing at a guitar shop should be aroud $150-$200. It could be less if you tried asking a painter or woodworker.

That's what I'm trying to figure out. But if I'm buying a guitar that costs over 1500 new for around 700 or so, I'm thinking it might be worth it.

You could probably get someone on here to do it if you want, or you can do it on your own for a lot less
