Nothing. In fact, it probably hurt my grades.
However if I think about it, it made me know a lot of musicians, which are generally cool people.

I didn't need to be active or engage in sports after that. And I could suck at sports (which I do) and people would understand.

A valid reason for keeping my hair long.

But seriously, it helped me appreciate music more and gave me better understanding of what I'm hearing.

It's built my muscles up so it gave me more of an advantage for playing drums. In saying that, I didn't have to get any lessons for bass guitar from knowledge of playing the guitar. My grip seems to have improved too and calluses on my left hand enables me to pick hot things up lol

Guitar has given me a ****load extra knowledge, which might come in useful somehow.

I'm not particularly adventerous and have few interests, but I like to analyse things to see how they work. Playing guitar has taught me about music theory, pop culture, physics, electronics, taste (and a lack thereof), fine art, psychology and the human nature.

I took a music course and met most of the people i call friends now, and met new friends through them and new friends through them and etc.

Guitar playing helped strengthen my hands (you'd be surprised how much stronger you can make them by playing lots of black metal! Constant tremelo picking for like 8 minutes isn't exactly easy.)

girls, girls, girls...chix dig guys who rock on guitar, or any other instrument really (except bass :p. Better coordination develops, increase your memory by learning songs, scales, chords, etc. Keeps you from dieing of boredom in some cases
Save Gibson

^Do it, if you want Gibson to stop with the poor QC and terrible new guitars...

Greatly helped me understand what goes into creating music, and had an effect on my musical tastes in the long run, i'm sure.

But I don't wana try and impress people by doing it, and end up melting the ends of my fingers off. Which wouldn't be good!

John Dillinger burnt his fingerprints with sulphuric acid in order to confuse the FBI. The skin healed back pretty much the same. Same enough to get a positive fingerprint match. And that's with 1920's forensic technology.
