Is UG going to participate in this? I think it's a good cause, since chuck influenced me so much. I will probably participate.

If I was into Death in 2000/2001 and the Schuldiner family was asking for donations to keep Chuck alive, I would have done that. No need to send them $25 now.

If they gave the moeny away to cancer research i'd think about it. Otherwise, not gonna bother. Chuck died, leave it at that. No need to milk the cash cow.

Although, i'd like that mockingbird guitar...or the backdrop. That'd be killer.

I've sent my $25 in already; The family said he funds were going to be used to release previously unheard material from him.

"The proceeds, in part, will be used to finally produce the never before released last music Chuck was able to record in the studio. This is an important project not only to the fans who have been waiting years, for all of the “red tape” to disintegrate, but for Chuck’s long time close friend & drummer, Richard Christy and other band members, Chuck’s family and the entire international metal music community."

From the empty words site.

I'm inclined to agree with most of the posts in this thread, but I'm tempted to enter just for the prizes....

I'm KIND OF tempted to send in a serious response, but at the same time, I'm tempted to send in the "How Chuck Schuldiner Made Me a Man" thing.

If all they care about is releasing his final bits of music for the world to hear, they should release it for free.

Money scheme, imo.

Or

"Scream Bloody Gore, Chuck Edition." You only get the vocals and lead guitar work, nothing more.

No, the guitars for the second album are recorded and are already available as Unreleased Themes from Control Denied. The other members wanted to finish recording their parts, but could not due to copyright issues.

Not even a Stealth or Mockingbird???

As sad as it is, this does seem to be a horrible ploy to make some money. If they really wanted to release this material, I'm sure his family could find a record label willing to pay big bucks for the rights.

Prices are nice, this scheme isn't.

Fvck them.
