Hey, I just now noticed that my guitar's jack is slightly loose. It just moves a little bit and I'm wondering if it's a big deal or not. I don't want to just turn it (it's a hex nut) because I remember someone telling me that you can mess up the wiring by doing that.

That happens to me all the time. Just completely unscrew whatever binding plate is holding the input jack and then tighten the hex nut while holding the wires in place. If you tighten the hex nut by turning it where it is, there is a chance that you can twist and possibly damage the wiring. Good luck

you can turn it if you want but itll only damage the wiring if you turn it alot or turn the thread peice, so if you want to turn it simply keep the thread peice in place with some pliers or something and then turn the nut itself without turning the thread peice where the cable goes in

So i need to stabilize the inner circle thing, and twist the actual hex nut?
