I don't think post-rock is too theory orientated
It's really a do-it-yourself kind of mentality
Not many of the post-rock dudes know what they're doing themselves

Tortoise seems to use a lot of jazz influence on a lot of their records. I'd take a look at that.

Yeah, Post-Rock's more about experimenting with textures and sounds. The theory's pretty much standard modern rock harmony, but with maybe a little less regard your usual song structures.
