hey guys,

I was thinking about selling my cube 30x and get a nicer amp, preferably under 400 euro's.

So, any suggestions?
and also: how much could I get for my cube?

thanks

Ok heres some for around 400 Euros:

http://www.thomann.de/gb/peavey_valve_king_212.htm

http://www.thomann.de/gb/blackheart_handsome_devil_combo_bh15_112.htm

id say the peavy was best but if you look used you'll find better amp cheaper.

thanks for the suggestions, although the peavey is too pricey sinds it's 490 here in Holland, would the valveking 112 be good for metal?

It will with an OD, low wattage amps tend to not be the best for metal, I also reccomend staying as far away from Valvekings as possible.

yes but not as good as the peavy, the peavy is a 100watt full tube amp, if you got this you wouldn't need to ever get a bugger amp, plus you could gig with this.

the VK isn't a metal amp either, not to mention that for most things his Roland Cube would sound better.

They're unreliable and wont be much of an improvement (if at all
) over your cube, the only time I've heard a VK sound good is after it's had a couple hundred dollars of mods done to it.

I would go with the blackheart (unless you really need a lot of headroom) and also maybe look at various used amps that you can find.

try it and see if it suits you nice cleans are pretty subjective (althoug I'm quite fond of the blackhearts cleans) as for metal you will need an overdrive or boost pedal of some sourt, but that's pretty much par for the course with amps in your price range.

the only thing with the black hearts is that they are expensive to buy if your buying a low wattage one because if you ever start gigging then youll have to buy a higher wattage amp.

If you want metal, get a Blackstar HT-5, not a Blackheart. Blackhearts are more low gain, Blackstar's have more gain, and IMO, better cleans.

You think I'd be alright with just a ht-5 combo?

Yes, although it would be better if you could get the HT-5 head and an Epi VJ cab, or the Blackheart cab. Its worth it for the 12" speaker. You wont be dissapointed either way.
