the clean channel's volume of my mesa/boogie f-30 is very weak but the lead channel is just fine. is there something wrong with the tubes?

I think so. The clean on my old roommates F30 was godly.
I've bought, sold, and traded more gear than I care to admit.

Sounds like it will probably be V1 or V2, I forget which one is the dedicated clean channel preamp tube. Go to the Mesa Boogie website and download the F series Manual and it will tell you.

Or you can do the eraser tap test. Tap a pencil eraser on the preamp tubes. If they are bad, you should hear a rattling.
