Anyone know how to use an 8 string guitar in Guitar Pro? It will only allow 7...

I can't figure out how, but I'm hoping there's an easy solution

2 7 string tracks: one tuned F#,B,E,A,D,G,B, and one tuned B,E,A,D,G,B,E. I would expect that any new GP release will cater for them.

what I usually do is have one track for rhythm, which consists of the lowest 7 strings of the 8-string guitar. I then make another track for leads which has the highest 7 strings of the 8-string guitar.

EDIT: Beaten to it.
Gear:

Ibanez XPT707FX
Ibanez RG7321 (DiMarzio D-Activator 7 Pickups)

Dunlop Crybaby 535Q Wah-Wah
DigiTech Whammy WH-4
Boss RC-20XL Loop Station

Line 6 Flextone III Plus w/FBV2 Footswitch

I was hoping I wouldn't have to do that because I'll be using all 8 strings for a single guitar

Thanks though, guys

Well it's doable but it damn well is fiddly. Was enough for me to give up trying to write 8 string stuff

If you have it updated to Guitar Pro 6 you can. Just go to to the top bar. Go to 'Track', then go to 'Add'. Under Gutiars there will be one that says 8 strings.

Perhaps someone can create some kind of mod for this. I cant stand GP6

You know what would be really sweet? Having a beautiful bird inlaid around the first fret, taking a majestic dump with airborne droppings around the 5th, 7th, 9th frets and so on, with a graceful impact around the 22nd-24th.
