The Tree and the Forrest

Imprisoned thought has killed the most
Of what this world considers lost
Then free market bought the rest
And left them waiting in a nest

Named that nest “Democracy”
Locked it in bureaucracy
And gave the keys to very few
To those who that big secret knew

So, no! screw you
I don’t want to be good
You said your aim was honest
Even if I don’t approve
But no, it’s not
I think it’s rather old
You’re missing all the forest
For the tree in front of you

We thought of the alternatives
And stuck in food conservatives
We studied all the relatives
And found all their negatives

We even made 2 world wars
Coz’ one was not enough
We never killed the warlords
And gave them the last laugh

So, no! screw you
I don’t want to be good
You said your aim was honest
Even if I don’t approve
But no, it’s not
I think it’s rather old
You’re missing all the forest
For the tree in front of you
Every form of control over another person is a crime

You missed that rhyme scheme

This is a very good poem. It is by far one of the best I have ever read. And I like the message behind it Keep on Writing
