How do you look at it.

With my acoustic, I pride myself on it's cleanliness.

But my strat was already dirty and scratched when I got it. Anything more is just a 'scar', as you put it.

When the damage first happens i freak out, but after a while i get used to it and like it.

i dont want my guitars to get hurt but an unscratched guitar is an unloved guitar.

depends on how major it is, and whether or not its only cosmetic, but generally I don't care that much.

My brother put a hole in my acoustic... I laughed and was pissed at the same time. But I don't really care now.

But I really don't like it when I bump my guitar hard into a wall or something, I cringe and automatically check if there is any damage.

My guitar is pretty beat up.

The paint is all worn away on the neck and the top where my left hand and right arm, respectively, are always rubbing against it. The headstock snapped when my bassist's cabinet fell on it, so I clamped/glued that and sanded that area down and put a couple screws in. It still plays just as good as ever though, so I'm not complaining.
#26
i want my strat to look beat up too but the finishing is pretty thick.... lol

Scratching your car costs like $10 worth of paint, scratching your guitar costs a stupid amount to get repainted and refinished.

my les paul is tough. Hitting it usually only leaves a tiny little dent so I'd say this:

nah no way i play my guitar all the time and its MINT, i wipe it down all the time(all guitars ive owned) and always place it back in its case or gig bag and i never leave it out anywhere to get knocked over.

its quite possible to keep anything in almost perfect shape
