So are we all gonna hang here now instead of gear for post rock?

-Gibson LP VM
-Silvertone Kentucky Blue
-MXR CC Delay
-Ibanez TS-9
-Egnater Rebel 20
-Avatar 1x12

My rig is simple
Haha. UG's Chuck just said chuck. haha
You're not truly playing guitar unless you know theory.
#4
Chuck, yes

Doc, you can if you buy me some drinks first

Alright, let's get this party started. I'll periodically post mods, clips, and recommended listening. And Offset pr0n of course.

Maybe add Johnny Marr to the list?
G&L Tribute S-500 -> Ernie Ball VP -> Boss SD-1 -> Fulltone OCD -> Small Stone Phaser -> Danelectro Cool Cat Tremolo -> Boss DD-3 -> Boss RE-20 -> TC Electronic Hall of Reverb -> Boss RC-2 -------> Modded Crate v18 Amp

This thread is for me
I really like Jazzmasters but I would want one with humbuckers myself.

Okay guys, first up to get the ball rolling.

Who is your favorite offset player and for what reason?

Mine is Nels Cline. The man is an amazing guitar player, and his solos are remarkably tasteful. He also does some amazing ambient/noise stuff.

In a perfect world, I'd really love a Jazzmaster.

However, that's beyond my range at the moment, so instead I'm lusting after a Danelectro Dead-On '67 in either sunburst or blue.

Do YOU know who Les Paul is?

Guitars:
-Epiphone Dot Studio
Amps:
-Fender Stage 112 SE
Effects:
-BBE Soul Vibe
-Boss OD-1 Overdrive
-Ibanez DE-7 Delay

Great thread! Here's my coil tapped, Gibson powered Jagmaster. I've since ditched the vintage SG knobs in favor of some chrome ones. Just don't have a good current pic:

SLAP energy drinks ftw.

Oooh cool! How's it sound? What p/us are in that?

Thanks! I really dig it. The neck pickup is stock and sounds nice and warm untapped. The bridge is a Gibson 498T. Super thick and really strat like when tapped. Only complaint is the SLIGHT volume loss when the pickups are tapped but it's not horrible. I have an OLD demo of it when I first got it somewhere on Youtube......
There it is:

[quote="'[BurnTheDusk"]']I was the Danelectros at guitar center today!!!
I MUST have one!

To be honest, I wasn't so fond of them until A) I first saw pics of that blue one online, and B) had a chance to play the sunburst one in Guitar Center today too.

Incredibly thin and light body, great neck, excellent tone off the pickups, even my first experience with Danelectro's method of wiring the pickups in series so the volume gets boosted with both on. The trem's kinda eeehhh, but that's a minor issue.

I also MUST have one!

This thread fails for not mentioning Elvis Costello immediately.

I love Jags, Mustangs etc. but have a serious hard-on for those Dano 67's too. Especially for the price.

If none of you know, I am transforming my stratocaster into an offset guitar of sorts via lots of sanding.
#21
I've got some serious GAS for an offset at the moment, think that's what I'll be saving for next The only problem being, I've never been a massive fan of Fender's necks but I suppose I'll have to try one.
Which would be better for rock/punk the jazzmaster or a jag' with humbuckers in it?

P-90s are extremely versatile pickups. I love the set in my Agile goltop. Think Green Day's newer albums in terms of the crunch they provide.
SLAP energy drinks ftw.

Tubetime, an offset guitar features an assymetrical body shape, with a protruding lower bout. Check out the Jag and JMaster then look at a Strat or Tele.

Ben, get one! Jazzmaster with P90s

Is it just me, or do the Jaguars and Duo-Sonics just look like stunted Strats?

The Jazzmaster and Mustang are sexy though.

Jof, you suck

Yea, the Jazzmaster is the same shape, but the larger pickguard really makes it look different in my opinion.

Squit, that is very sexy. Weird, I had seen them before but that's the first time I've actually thought it was good looking

those danos are made of compressed paper. fun toys but the only real use on stage would be for setting it on fire.

Yea, unlike the SG shape that it's based on, ESP contoured it slightly. It's much more comfortable when sitting.

I still prefer the Jmaster though, but I'm biased
