I have a squier by fender deluxe strat. when I purchased it I had no idea that it was missing the saddle screw on the A string. The guys that sold it to me had simply strung it, and let the tension of the string hold everything in place.

I'm restringing my guitar for the first time since I bought it, and I'm wondering if should get the saddle screw replaced before I put on the new strings (If so how much would it cost? And would I have to go to anywhere in particular to find the right screw?).

I would also like to know if there is any danger in not replacing the saddle screw and simply stringing the guitar again the way it was before (Temporarily of course).

It won't damage the guitar to leave it with just 1 screw...at worst the string might break.

I don't know where to find just the screw, but you can get replacement saddles at any decent guitar store.

Jenny needs to sow her wild oats with random Gibsons and Taylors she picks up in bars before she settles down with a PRS.
