I get real anxious when thinking about buying a new guitar because i've had bad luck in the past. One small little detail will stop me from loving my guitar. Since the music shop closest to me sucks and only has les pauls and low end ibanez and kramer focus guitars i have no way of playing any new guitar before i buy it...

Please only recommend guitars that you own/have more than one day of playing experience with because i would like to not have to upgrade for a while. The current guitar i use, i love, (RGA121NTF) but I'm a shredder, and even though i love the neck, there is a problem with upper fret access. You can reach the top string, but sweeping up the the 24th fret can get quite annoying.

Here's what i'm looking for (none of this is negotiable, unless otherwise said)

24 XJ Frets
Super-Strat body
some inlay other than dots, im sick of dot inlay.
String Thru
I don't care about the finish, but preferably not black or some weird color design.
Smooth neck (Poly finishes are ok, but no nitrocellulose painted necks)
GREAT UPPER FRET ACCESS, i dont want my left hand touching the body of the guitar
EMG's preferably, but a good pair of Duncans or Dimarzio's will do (no company stock)

I was thinking about the ESP LTD MH-1000NT (sunburst), but i don't know how the upper fret access is, the picture looks like it just goes past the 24th fret so it might be uncomfortable.

Anyone have experience with this guitar? or another one they could recommend me? (please don't say anything agile guitars)

I can't imagine anything worse than shagging to Mark Knopfler.

Maybe shagging Mark Knopfler, but that's about it.

My Carvin DC-127 has the best upper fret access I've felt. Better than Jackson, Ibanez, Caparison, any brand I've tried. Only thing is, they do come with Carvin pups. Pretty good pups IMO, but I still changed mine for Dimarzios.

that is quite a set of specific specs. It will be hard to find a guitar with all those features at a reasonable price..

I might suggest going the Warmoth.com way.
Get all the parts you want at your specifications.

probably in the $1000 - $1500 Range..
