Pence is a plural of penny, a coin or unit of currency.

Pence is also the name of several places in the United States:

* Pentz, California - also called Pence
* Pence, Indiana
* Pence, Kansas
* Pence, Wisconsin

Pence is also a surname and may refer to:

* Mike Pence, United States congressman
* Hunter Pence, professional baseball player

Hmmm... I'm Still puzzled.

Pence is the equivalent of the American's cents and instead of dollars, we have pounds. Google told me:

1000 British pounds = 1815.74411 Canadian dollars

We use pounds.

Pence is the plural of penny. Essentially pence is our smaller currency like your cents.

TS where did you get the "New" Pence bit from?
