Their ballad-esque "Some Will Seek Forgiveness, Others Escape"

from '2:45'-'2:54'

wondering which effects make the guitar sound like it does.

Also, on a side note, is there any effect used in Desperate Times, Desperate Measures?

Its just an EQ trick. Take out pretty much all the bass from your amp and guitar, and you should be able to get that fizzy, lo-fi sound.

Ahh, gotcha. Well my guitar shouldn't be aprob since most of the time I'm using the brdige pup with tone maxed, but Im getting my MXR soon and putting it into the effects loop of my amp, so when that's plugged in, is the pedal EQ overriding, so-to-speak, the amp EQ?

You can do it with an EQ pedal, maybe the EQ on your amp depending on how it works, or with an Ibanez LF-7.

the eq in the effects loop wont "override" the eq on the amp, they stack. so say u cut ur mids down to 3 on the amp, and have them cut in half on the eq pedal (half way down from the middle to the bottom), when u hear it, ur getting 1.5 mids.
