I just broke my low E string- again. Are there any strings out there (in .009's) that don't break easy? I'm using D'Addarios. I have a trem.

plus you can pick colors
red, black, blue, green and pink
or get the hi-beams
those have a brighter tone with enough fatness and warmth

you sure it's the string? you may have a rough spot or a sharp edge at your bridge. you might wanna check that out.

If your low string is breaking (continuously), you need to check your bridge slots. They're probably either the wrong size or have a sharp edge.
#10
It's not that they're the wrong size. It's an Ibanez, it's designed for .009's. I'll ceck for a sharp edge. But in the past mont, on this guitar alone, I've broken 5 or 6 strings, 2 of which were low E, including this one. I broke the D once, and it was at the bridge, both these times with the low E was at the bridge, so I wonder...

Or is it just I'm using the trem too much?

check the bridge for sharp edges and then very lightly file them down.

+1 if you're breaking strings at the bridge.

it's going to be the saddle edges.

cheaper than running thru packs of strings, would be going out and picking up a set of gratech string saver saddles.

The good news, however, is that I'm getting pretty good at stringing strings; I'll probably work at a Guitar Center now.

You might check your Tuner Peg-Holes as well. I had an old acoustic that had burrs in the holes, tore the strings up, snapped from the top everytime.

Where did your string give out from?
