Snatch is such a crude term - Use a better one like axe-wound or cave-opening.

LOL, for some reason the impression I get from you is like some wacky Frank Zappa of metal pulling pranks at the Grammys and telling crude jokes during interviews.

Thats mine. I could get the 9 to an 8- but then I couldn't stum it. I have small hands. I don't see why I would need to stretch like this anyway

If I had to play the original chord, I would re-arrange it- which IS something I'm good at

I've never really pushed myself too much with chord stretches but I can do 10h21.

Junior's usually at least a little terse, but he knows his stuff. I've always read his posts in a grouchy grandfather voice, a grouchy grandfather with a huge stiffy for alternate picking.
Besides that, he's right this time. As usual.

To most replys in this thread: No you can't.

Can you get that into position straight away without having to spend 2 minutes getting your fingers into position?

lol CHECK ME OUT GUYS I CAN STRETCH REAL FAR

There's always an easier way to play a chord, plus you can always tap it if you needz teh wide interval octaves
^Note: Probably sarcastic

This, and if it's notes on a single string then the biggest stretches I can do (relatively quickly, but never actually use) are 6-12, 8-15 and 12-23

Biggest I use is 3rd fret low E string, 8th fret A-string.

I can, with the chord I said:

--0--
--0--
--9--
-12-
--5--
--7--

But yeh, I hear what you're saying- a stretch like that is useless if it takes so long to get there. Maybe we should change the question to "Whats the biggest stretch you can do with your fretting hand straight away?"

That would kinda be more useful and accurate.

Yep. I used to have a hard time playing that song but now it's not bad. It really helped stretch out my fingers. 3-7, 3-8, 6-12. It's so fun to play.
