By this i mean can you get a mic lead that goes into two mics and then straight down one cable into the mixer or whatever? Also if this is possible does it reduce sound quality at all??

I can't imagine anything worse than shagging to Mark Knopfler.

Maybe shagging Mark Knopfler, but that's about it.

I mean like have two mics run into one cable, so it shares a channel on the PA

Of coarse it is possible.
But as you will have 2 signals regulation into 1 you will lose half of the output from each and they will work together at the level of a single microphone, essentually you will just have turn it up a bit.

C'mon, man. We're just kidding. We all know that drummers are important.

After all, without drummers, who would bag my groceries?

Sorry Dear but Microphones use XLR plugs and jacks.
XLR stands fro ground, left, and right, so essentially each microphone is already stereo.

This isn't very complex, you are putting 2 magnets to 1 cable in order to get both signals, but you will get half of the signal from each as they are coregulating into the amount of input signal of 1 microphone.
