Hey UG,

Im looking into getting a good EQ pedal for my Engl half stack, so that I can get different tones and sounds etc. I don't really have a budget, just a good pedal that will last, is durable and can survive a gig and generally does its job well! So any suggestions? Thanks in advance

If you're on a budget, the Danelectro Fish n Chips is actually a really nice, inexpensive pedal.

MXR 10-band is great, like mentioned before, if you don't really have a budget.

Rack mount EQs if sky's the limit.

Want the most control? Get two EQs. Set one between your guitar and amp, then another in your effects loop.

*noob question*
if you have an EQ pedal, how do you EQ your amps EQ then?
"Black gives way to more black."

I have UG Black Style and I can barely read my signature.

Also, I like black.

The best way for me is to EQ my amp until it sounds as close as possible to the tone I'm trying to achieve. Basically, I make my amp sound really good how I like it. Then I use my EQ (pedal) for small tone tweaks or volume boosts for solos. Do I want a bit more mids, a pinch more of low end, etc...

NO!!!

MUST HAVE MORE EQ!!!

Actually, from people that I know that do a lot of studio work and such, having an EQ in both areas isn't all that uncommon and does provied quite a bit of control and ability to fine tune.
