Only because:
1. Anything even remotely clean sounds horrible.
2. Only 13 year old metal obsessed kids buy Spiders.

I hate people who crank the bass in any speaker/amp
Your mother likes it ruff, Trebeck.

I own a Spider II and I think its a pretty sucky amp.
(Luckily I got it used a long while back so w/e.)
I really don't think there are any decent settings for it
They all sound so bland to me.

I picked up a small VYPYR for practising and it's much better.

Since everybody here bashes Spiders (Some Line6 gear is damn good!), why not bring this question to the Line6 forums where they won't tear you a new asshole?

I mean, you would get more quality answers and you will still be able to sitdown comfortably.

I like setting it properly face down, in a garbage can.

Serisouly, asking at what setting that amp sounds best is like asking at which angle a 400 pound woman looks better (the answer of course is in the dark)

I ALWAYS have mine on the insane channel. Why would I need to play anything else? Then I turn the Volume and Gain to 10, my mom complains but I tell her to shut up cuz shes just a stupid ***** anyways. Then I set the EQ to the 666 setting but its a little too middy so I usually roll down the mids to make a 626 setting, satan said it was ok cuz I sound so brutal doing it. I tried out some Peaveys and Mesas but none of them even came close. They sound too analog-y AND THEY DONT EVEN HAVE BUILT IN EFFECTS OR AMP MODELS!

Wow - 18 replies to a spider thread and one of them isn't taking the piss/slagging the amp off - is that a new record? 1 person in 18 not being a dick? I think it is - TS you're getting off light.

I'll be honest - I don't know what my settings are; I made them, saved them and sometimes tweak them. They're written down somewhere but that's only incase the amp wipes itself (not done so in 3 years though).

Head and Cab for $130? You don't need a head and cabinet, you need a psychological examination.
