Something's wrong with the output jack on my G-400 that I just got today

It keeps cutting out signal to the amp and its definetely the guitar itself, not the cable.

If I touch the cable at all while playing, I lose signal and have to turn the end of the cable inside the jack to get signal.

Is there a quick fix to my problem or should I bring it back to guitar center?

BTW, will opening up the compartment on the back of my guitar void my warranty?

Thanks

Check the wiring connections, same thing happened to my Tele and it was a loose solder joint.

I'm not very good with guitars... It might just be better for me to take it back to Guitar Center...

Will they be able to fix it if that's the issue?

I actually think it is tha cable.

I had the exact same problem, my dad took the cable and re-solderd (sp?) it, it works fine now.

To check, just swap cables and if it still doesnt work then its 100% the guitar. If it works get a new cable

I've used 3 different cables and it still keeps happening

In that case its definatly the guitar, you can take the back plate off yourself and check the connections, or take to guitar center. (I personally dont trust them unless I know them personally)

Thanks

I'll go to Guitar Center ASAP

A guy working there has been assisting me with this guitar for about a week now and has been a great help so far. I just hope he's there.

IMO a local shop would of been better, they get it done faster and are more reliable

It's amazing how people will all the way to guitar center, pay them money and wait a week for something that you can do at home in about 5 minutes.

It takes about 5 minutes to fix an output jack. Literally, 4 minutes of which is simply waiting for the soldering iron to heat up.
