Is a Peavey Vypyr 30W the best thing for my money? Also, is it loud enough for practicing with a band, and does it sound as good as a 75W, just with less features?

maybe a used vox valvetronix have one of thiose pretty veristile nice onboard effects got mine for 150
it was 50 watt version

It might be loud enough for a band, but it might not sound good, depending on how loud your drummer is..as far as another amp in that price range, it might just be your best bet, unless you are willing to go used

^shoot sorry, forgot about this thread...

uh...What styles do you play? If you like the vypyr, you could probably get the 75 watt one for less than 200, or a Valvetronix, just stay away from Spiders.

If you're gonna play with drums, I would go with 50 watts or higher, unless you wanted to go tube, which you can't with your budget.
