Is there an amp or a series of amps that are notorious for being awful? I searched and couldn't get an answer. So I want to know what is wrong with this company.

That Rick Roll was extremely well played.

Their Spider III series is a poor purchase for the amount of money they charge, and there are FAR better alternatives in the same price range. Line 6 make plenty of awesome products, but their Spiders just aren't one of them.
Telecaster - SG - Jaguar
Princeton Reverb, Extra Reverb
P-Bass - Mustang Bass
Apogee Duet 2 - Ableton Suite

It's because they're digital I guess. You can't google how ****ty an amp (or anything for that matter) is because opinions aren't statistics (at least in my opinion). From my experience they're not too bad, but lets just say that they leave the serious musician wanting more :P

Line 6 Vetta series = Amazing
Line 6 Flextone series = Great
Line 6 POD series = Great
Line 6 Spider series = overpriced and unreliable with pretty poor overall tone.

USE THE F@$#ING SEARCH BAR. Jesus.

If you already searched, you're either lying or doing it wrong, there's 235049763 of these threads on here.

That's pretty much it. I love their POD series, I don't own one, but I've tried quite a few and they're pretty rad.
But every Spider III I've tried has been horrible, they sound horrible, effects just seem to activate on their own and I've just noticed a general lack of quality, as evident with them mysteriously breaking down for no reason.

It sounds very digital, especially compare to other amps in the same price range such at the Peavey Vypyr, which is actually analog on the back, and the tone sounds much better for the price

I'm getting tired of all of these Spider threads. Use the searchbar to look for threads like these if you want to get the peoples opinions.

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

If I see one more of these threads I'm going to go out and kill the first person I see- they should be bannable.

Their solid state modelling amps.
Poor choice for any guitarist.

try and get a smaller less complicated tube amp you will get a much better tone.
I can't see why anyone would want a solid state amp.
I love white guitars!

I've used a spider in the past (although never owned one) and I hated it. I know everyone hates marshall MG's but I had a better sound from my old MG than the spider.
I sold my MG and bought a different amp everyone on here hates (but slightly less) just because it was cheap

They have their uses.If you need to be loud on a budget, solid state is the way to go.Or if you want an amp thats built like a tank, solid state is also a great choice.

The forum is probably getting trolled at every available opportunity when these threads start, but seriously, can't the mods just delete these threads as they appear and ban the users.

If you can search the internet about Spiders, surely to Christ the forum can be searched to before making another one of these threads. There are at least 2 of these a day popping up sometimes. It's getting to the point where it's moronic.

I'm okay with trolls myself really.
Sure I won't troll myself, and I don't want nothing but trolling, but th occasional casinoepihpone type troll is ocassionaly something to make me laugh a bit, and not take seriously.

this guy is just a very unoriginal troll
And I hate to be this guy but this is litterally headlines in the rules that these threads aren't allowed.

Nothing at all. It's just that the Spider series are expensive compared to their rivals and inferior (The rivals being the Vox Valvetronix, Peavy Vypr and Roland Cube).

There have been a lot of spider trolls lately honestly.
It's pretty funny.
It's kinda like a comeback

I like line 6 as a company.
The Spider seeries has none of my respect though.

My band played spiders up until recently, when I bought a bugera 333 and our other guitarist bought a peavey xxx. Our bugera had to go to the shop because it arrived broken and we used the spider side by side with the xxx. Before this, I had never understood the spider hate, but believe me, I can now tell why people say they have terrible tone. Hallelujah I've seen the light!

Spiders have terrible tone and sound so fake if you compare it to other amps at this pricerange like Vypyrs and VTs.
Fender American Special HSS Stratocaster
Ibanez 1987 Roadstar II Deluxe
Yamaha THR10X
Marshall JCM900 SL-X
Ibanez WD-7 Weeping Demon Wah

Well said. Thank you. Explains the Bugera hate too.
