I recently got a Metal Muff. I replaced the battery and plugged it in and used it, and then I didn't use it for about 3 days. It's been about 4 days, and now the battery is out. Is it supposed to die so quickly? Do I have to unplug the cables from it? I just thought that if I hadn't actually activated it it wouldn't take up battery.

How long would they last if I just plugged in the cables while they were in use?

Well no worries, I rummaged around and found a 9v power adapter from an old router, so I've got it powered now.

They would last ALOT longer if you were unplugging them after you play.

The pedal turens on by pluging in the guitar cable. you dont have to unpluge the output cable though, I have to learn that the hard way.
The battery usually lasts for 1.5 -2 weeks before I have to change it, but sometimes more!
