Hey! Well, I've been on the GB&C for nearly a year now, learning and admiring builds. Before last school year ended, I decided it was time for me to do my first build. So I made the planning thread, which can be found here:

https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1112139

Anyways, I ordered all my wood from Metalwarrior40.

Here's the specs:

Neck-thru Hard Maple Neck
Alder Wings
Sexy Flamed Maple Top (4A+)
Ebony Fretboard
Custom Vine of Life inlay ( Courtesy Metalwarrior 40 ;] )
Black Hardware
Black Gotoh Double Locking Floyd
EMG 81tw/60x
Some fancy wiring stoof..

Yeah. That's about it. I'll get pics of my neck wood up soon, it came in today. The rest of the wood should also come in soon.

ALSO: The paintjob will either be a Trans-Black or similiar to this.

Epiphone LP jr. with EMG 89 split coil, alot of upgrades

Now you've got me curious...details please?

Also, I vote green instead of trans black. That mockup looks gorgeous!

18V mod, and see if I can think of a way to switch it on and off, Splittable bridge coil (hence 81tw ), The rest is a secret.

Also, that mockup was with quilted, I'm using flamed. Have you seen Trans-Black Flamed? It's ****ing sexy.

personally, i would say green because i've seen a lot of flamed black guitars here lately.

however, that's me, so i guess that doesn't really matter to what you ultimately pick lol

sir, i would like to inform you that you are now my favorite UGer. Not only did you use the word y'all, which is native to my homeland, but you correctly punctuated it using the apostrophe.

Sweet. For some reason, I've never seen a coil splitting EMG before.

Also, flamed green would be even more amazing than flamed black methinks. It kind of reminds me of Luigi.

EDIT: Or better yet, greenburst

Why stop there? Peach (Pink Strat), Wario(Yellow V), and Waluigi(Purple Iceman) deserve recognition too!

Just think about the inlay possibilities...mmm

EDIT: ^^^Those are amazing. Left out the headstock though

I know.
Good news: Today was my first day of school. I have Woodshop 7th.. Usually people in Wood 1 aren't allowed to use the bandsaw, planer, jointer, or CNC on a regular basis.. I talked to the teacher after class, and told him I was building as guitar and asked if I would be allowed to use the bandsaw and stuff. Turns out he's a Luthier, I now am the only person in Wood 1 to have regular access to the BIG power tools, and I can call him when I need to use the Woodshop on weekends, AND he's gonna teach me some stuff about luthiery.

thank me later lol

but this seems like a great build

followed
Guitars:

1998 Squier Affinity Stratocaster

Amps:

Peavey Valve king 112

i like your bed, i think it'd look good with me on it, next to your beautiful striped wood

other than that, i can't even think of anything that could possibly make this better

& to switch off your battery box, maybe just a killswitch? or TWO ! killswitches that cut the wires from accessing said battery box at all.

EDIT: and just to be an asshole, make them connect to a matching green flame maple remote control that you clip onto your belt.

Hmm..
Like a locking SPST killswitch of some sort?
If so, I have a few extra ones lying around

I may also put a normal killswitch in for teh lulz.

yes, make something like, 1/4" jack, into a box, with the SPST, and then goes through another 1/4" jack into the guitar,

and if you have more SPST's (i'd imagine you'd have to) you can switch the input/output jacks for that in and out.

now that i think about it, you may even be able to have an effects loop on your guitar . . . .

Dude, you have no idea.
I have like 10 SPST momentary switches, about 15 SPST locking switches, and and a crapload of minitoggles.

This effects loop interests me...explain.

Hmmm.. Ice, so how would I apply that to an effects loop?

Quote by Saint78

that would be the effects loop, the IN wire would be right before your output jack and the OUT wire would be going to your output jack, the two DPST switches would select either the effects loop (left 1/4" jack is out, other is in) or just regular to the output jack.

also, you can call me Kevin.

So the effects circuits are built into the box itself, with the switches selecting what effects are on and off?

That's ****ing epic and confusing at the same time.

waitwaitwait, what i meant was two seperate things, sorry for the confusion,

unless it wouldn't work, you could wire the battery box into the "effects loop", i don't know how active battery powering works, like if you need it directly to the pickup or anywhere in the circuit

but as an actual effects loop, like from your guitar to your pedals back into your guitar, so your pedals are built in, but external.
