Just find a used charvel star?
Ain't nothing like old charvels :P

lol, true...but all the ones i find are beat and the owner wants a small fortune for it...guess i'll play the waiting game.

I might sell my KH-602 for one, but i would prefer one without a trem.

So i checked some stuff out and I noticed that Charvel recently re-released (?) the Star model.

Now, I tried the new Charvel San Dimas strats and they were totally perfect.
If the star above is as good, I'd definatly recomend it.

They cost quite a bit though and I still stick to my first post.
Find a used one. Even if it's beat up, it will SO be worth it. Guitars from the 80s are 3x better than guitars today.
I have this EXTREMLY beat up Ibanez Roadstar II from 1986. I believe that those were entry level guitars back then and cost like $300 or something. Believe it or not, it matches the quality of todays prestige Ibanezes. Don't know if it's just the one I got, but yeah...
That's my general experience with all 80s guitars.
