Theres quite a few put there- Between the Buried and Me's Colors, and Dream Theater's Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence to name a few- but what other really really long epic prog songs are there out there? I love crazy long songs like these

Symphony X - The Odyssey^
Symphony X - Divine Wings Of Tragedy
Dream Theater - Octavarium
Dream Theater - The Count of Tuscany
Dream Theater - In the Presence of Enemies I + II
Dream Theater - Most of Train of Thought and Black Clouds and Silver Linings are 10+ minutes
Shadow Gallery - First Light
Shadow Gallery - Cliffhanger
Theocracy - Mirror Of Souls
Fates Warning - The Ivory Gate of Dreams
Rush - 2112
Opeth - Black Rose Immortal
Circus Maximus - The First Chapter
Liquid Tension Experiment - When the Water Breaks (Instrumental)
Liquid Tension Experiment - Three Minute Warning (Instrumental)
Iced Earth - Dante's Inferno (Significantly less proggy than the others)
Equilibrium - Mana (Less prog, more folk, Instrumental)
Tyr - Land (Less Prog, More Folk)

I haven't really mentioned any specific songs less than 15 minutes. I'm not sure how long you consider 'really, really long' to be.

I can add more if you like. I have a heap of songs in the 10-15 minute range, and as you'd imagine most of the are Prog.

Dream Theater - The Count of Tuscany live at Montreal Progressive Nation 09...epic...

I haven't really thought of any more.

If anyone else has any suggestions, I'd like to hear them.

If I'm looking at a new band and I realise they have a gargantuan song, I always go for that first.

It's certainly long and epic and prog...

Genesis - Supper's Ready (make sure PG is singing)

If you're having trouble finding long prog songs them you're doing something very wrong.

The point of underground bands is their not popular or famous most of the time. Thus there is a good chance they suck.

Porcupine Tree - Anaesthetize
Pink Floyd - Echoes
Pink Floyd - Shine on You Crazy Diamond
Also, many concept albums could be said to be really long, epic songs. Pink Floyds "The Dark Side of the Moon", for an example

i've always found pop to be harder to play than metal... especially shred metal... it's just really fast tremolo picking and the occasional palm mute... and the only chords you have to worry about are power chords...

Arriving Somewhere But Not Here - Porcupine Tree.

Love that song to pieces.
Prog flavored juice ... You tried it yet?

Shameless plot to promote zee band.

Land, the song. Which is really quite long compared to all the songs on Ragnarok.

But yeah, I'd reccomend the album Ragnarok over Land anyday.

You must listen to Lady Fantasy by Camel.

If you don't love it i'll be surprised.

If you don't at least like it, I'll be devestated.
