Really this should be in EG.

Just make sure it plays well, make sure the neck's not warped, make sure it'll hold a tune, and check the electronics.

No I'm not Jesus. I would aspire to be though. I think under circumstances he would let you pay less if you needed to.

This part, not-so-much.

The Newbie forum moves slowly.
Misplaced threads are common. It's not necessary to report them, in the Newbie forum.
Sometimes the Mods here will move them to the appropriate forum or just let them run their course here. When a Mod for this forum comes online, they check all the threads and take appropriate actions.

Definitely report any abusive posts, porn, gore, etc.
But let's just guide the newbies along to get them started, k?

sir awesome, please read this: Important: New Members FAQ
In addition to the instructions on how to operate many of the controls, you'll find a section that describes each of the UG forums. This will help you know what forum to use to start a particular thread. Be sure to read the announcements and stickied threads in any UG forum before posting there.

i'm a fan of getting a halfway decent guitar BEFORE you get a halfway decent amp... but a lot of people here are the opposite. so just for them, what type of amp have you got?

and i'm not a fan of epi's, but to each their own. i've seen some that play great, but i think there are better options in their price range. what sort of money were you looking to spend? if you're willing to spend about the $600 that epi would cost new you've got a ton of good choices

yes, but a better guitar may be easier to play and make you pick it and practice.

If you've played it and it really is all great and you like how it feels, then no, there's no need to look at anythign else: go get it.

The rule with guitars is no matter what anyone else says, if you've played a guitar and you like it, buy it. If you pass up a guitar you like and buy what someone else suggests instead you'll always regret it and after all, if you have found a good guitar you like, why would you then look at other things? If it's good, buy it.
Yes, I know everything. No, I can't play worth a damn.

if you want a better sound then you may need a new amp and a big-ish (30-50watts) one if you want to play live, but if you playabilitys and the feel of it is more important go for the guitar
