Being the awesome guy that I am, I'm going to be spending this Friday night alone in my basement. I'm in the mood for a thrill, and was hoping you guys could help me pick out a scary movie to watch on Netflix. I would prefer something that's genuinly scary, but not too much gore/disturbing parts. Thanks!

hannah montana movie. im too afraid to even think of watching it. just the thought of it haunts me...

cant u just do a search by genre with netflix then organize it by rating and just watch the one with the best rating?
Save Gibson

^Do it, if you want Gibson to stop with the poor QC and terrible new guitars...

I can search the genre, but I can't figure out how to sort it by rating.

Ringu (Japanese version of The Ring) X100000000 times scarier then the copy.

This sounds pretty good, unfortunately I can't watch it instantly.

The reviews for Hatchet make it seem like a gory movie that's not very scary. I'll probably end up watching Night of the Living Dead or something if you guys don't have any other recommendations.

[REC], the original spanish version of Quarantine is pretty scary from what I hear, If you want a serious answer.

It is a great horror movie but for some reason no movie has scared the sh** out of me more than Ringu.

I watched the ring as a kid, now i'm afraid of any scary Japanese ripoff movies like The Grudge, etc, etc.

Seriously, that one time you see her face for like a fraction of a second made me piss myself and gave me nightmares for weeks, and paranoia that she was standing over me during my sleep for years.

1.) Nightmare Inducement thread.
2.) Read the story about The Rake.
3.) Drink more coffee, because you won't want to sleep.

Seriously. You might not think it's so bad when you first read it. I didn't. Now if I'm walking upstairs or downstairs with the lights out, or to the bathroom from my room, my mind will just go "Hey, remember that... FFFUUUUUUU."

It'll beat any movie you could watch.

But if you want movies, just go for some classic zombies movies, or some of the Freddy or Jason movies.

You could go with the best werewolf movie of all time: Dog Soliders

Or the one of the best and the scariest movie you will ever see: Darkness Falls

Or you can go with something generic and lame like: The Ring, The Grudge, etc.

This, most of the other movies mentioned here so far are crap. Even Ringu, while being better than the remake, was pretty boring.
