I was playing a 50th anniversary V (GOTM March 08) the other day and everything about it was great except the $1700 price tag. NGD is coming up soon and I want a nice V around the $1000 mark. Any suggestions? I play mostly metal, and will be playing it through a Peavey 6505.
Judas Priest ftw.

I still can't figure out why you'd write stuff on your guitar when you could have a Hello Kitty strat like all the other metal kids do.

The regular Gibson Flying V. You can easily find one used for $700 (or less) on ebay. That is used. However, sometimes you find one that is new.

The grandmother is having a baby with her grandson, so the grandson will be his own fathers father, the baby will be his own grandfather, and grandson, and the grandmother will be the mother, and great grandmother?

Actually on the first page of results, there are many non-faded V's, by the way.

Does it have to be a Flying V shape, or just any V?

I like the Schecter v1 classic. Although I've never seen the yellow one anywhere it looks pretty spiffy.
