Save your pennies and buy a real soloist. The SL3 is alright, but it is nowhere near as good as the SL2 or SL2h

I was wondering this too. I need a backup for gigging and dropping, And love my SL1. I'd love a cheaper guitar though, because an SL1 isnt very dispensable. I play in a thrash band. MY main gripe with the straight SL3 are the hot rails.
