^Garbage.

They are oversized practice amps. If you have a 500 dollar budget, get a tube amp. I'd suggest the b-52 at112.

Don't get a half stack with that budget, a combo will be much better. I was referring to the crate btw. I you can go used there are many options. The b-52 you posted isn't that great, however a b-52 at112 combo amp is good for the price, but you could do better like a used peavey classic 30.

This. The Windsor is practically a JCM 800.

The only problem i have with the peaveys are i need a little more punch or wattage. 20 watts is too little for me. im looking for 50+. What are some good half stacks. i am willing to raise my budget to a bout 650

The Studio version (which I believe is what you're thinking of) of the Windsor is totally different from the head. 100 all tube watts, which is more than you'll ever need, and it's only around $400 for head and cab from MF, if I recall correctly.
#21
windsors are great especially for the price but a couple flaws are that it has only one channel(you can still get cleans though) and if you want to play modern really heavy metal you need to put a pedal in front of it. other than that it is great. believe me i own one

Well, apparently the cab's been discontinued, but you can still pick up the head for just $249. That'd leave you a bit for the cab, at least.

If you use a pedal for distortion you can grab a rig like this for that price range.

#25
No, you don't need 50 watts. You are probably going to mainly play in your room. If you need it louder, just mic your amp.

First mistake all beginners make when buying a new amp. DON"T get the Crate or Solid State B-52.

Get:

used pleavey classic 30 or 50
peavey windsor and something like a ts-9 or modded sd-1
used mesa f-30
used mesa .22
used marshall jcm 900
b-52 at
used bugera 333xl
used bugera 6262
used bugera 1990
used bugera 1960
used peavey XXX
used peavey ultra
used crate blue voodoo
etc.
"Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo."

I don't think you realize how loud 20 watts tube is. 50 watts isn't gonna be 2.25 times louder, only about 15% more volume wise which is fine if you don't need cleans.
