Maybe I'm in the wrong forum or whatever, but I'm a guitar player and I know how to play drums but I want some awesome drums for heavy metal but not too expensive. So I need help deciding on this set that caught my eye.

What do you guys think is this a good drums set to get for brutal metal and stuff?!?!

I would really appreciate your input on the subject, thank you!

EDIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually forget the drum set I mentioned above, it had double bass pedals but no cymbals. Check out this set that comes with cymbals and is still pretty sweet

What do you think? Compare the 2 sets!

Looks nice enough, but, if I were you I would go used.. There's next to no market for second hand drums, so you'll save a fair bit.
#3
go for it. im not a drummer but this seems like a good deal. except 1 bass drum and a double pedal seems to be more convenient, especially when gigging
#4
send me a message, i'll let you know what i think would be a good kit to start on.
i've been drumming for around 5 years

being a drummer longer than ive been a guitarist, i would say get those drums only if you have less than a year playing drums. Sound Percussion aren't the best drum and you'll find that they fall apart easily. Id suggest a better, single bass drumset and invest in a double pedal.

I wouldn't call what we have here on the Bass Forum a mentality. It's more like the sharing part of an AA meeting.

+1 this is just a kit for kids who want to be T3H BROOOTALZ on their kit when really you should just spend your 600 bucks on a better quality 4 or 5 piece kit and a double pedal.

I also agree about going used. The prices of nice drums like starclassics used are obscenely low.

You can play metal with 1 bass pedal and an 4 piece kit, the drums won't make you metal or better, it's the drummer so don't worry to much about the perfect kit untill you have enough money to buy wathever you want

I can vouch for the Sabians. I've got a set of Sabian APX. Such awesome cymbals. Not sure about drums though

I wouldn't buy that. If I were you I'd look around second hand near you for a decent 5 piece kit and them buy a double pedal and new cymbals, you'll get a lot better drums for $600 that way.
You're using UG classic, congratulations.
You should be using UG classic.
