SD quarter pounders are the way to go. Either those or an EMG set, assuming your 18volt modding it

I'd take those over the quarter pounders any day

Quoted for truth, there is way too many SD QP and BAII fanboys on this forum. I'd take a Gotoh 201 and a DiMarzio Split P over them anyday. To TS the DiMarzio website should basically give you a reading to what the pickup tends to sound like what frequency it accentuates and so forth.

Gibson Les Paul Traditional Satin
Fender 72' Thinline Telecaster
Fender Am Telecaster
Bad Cat HotCat 30R

Korg Pitchblack
Xotic BB Preamp
TC Flashback X4
Strymon Timeline
EHX POG 2
JHS Double Barrel

Those Dimarzios are pretty nice but if your going for a classic p bass tone you cant go wrong with SD QP or Fender 62's. The Dimarzios will be more modern sounding.

And Quarter Pounder's aren't modern sounding?
Nope, no sig here.

QP sound modern, not classic.

the Dimarzio is gonna have a smoother rumble to it than the growl of the QP. better if you like going subsonic, or always have your tone knob back. if your using picks and cranking mids and keep the tone on full, leave it be with QP.

I have to disagree, i put them in one of my basses just recently and they are not modern sounding at all. Although it is possible that my pick up set is flawed or my solder joints aren't that great, cause mine seem pretty low in output.

well heres what im plannig to do if this helps
im making a custom telebass so far i have an original 70s humbucker, and there is a hole cut near the bridge for a jazz pick up and in the middle forsplit coils,
so ontop of my decesion on pbass pups i need to find a jazz pickup
someone said i should cut another hole right above the existing jazz hole to put 2 jazz pickups
but i dont now how that would workout whick to get if i do

so far im probably gonna get the Dimarzios
now i ask your opinion on jazz pickups that would work with the Dimarzios and the humbucker

Surely P Bass pickups would provide this?
Yes, I use a Squier bass.

Mostly true? Yes. But not always true.
