How much does it cost? With full upgrades (p'up, 2 pots, wire, and everything)

Oh, and getting the wiring scraped off of the guitar cavity.

Yeah, my friend was being retarded and left his guitar OUTSIDE, IN THE RAIN!

Then his grandpa, thinking he could fix it, inserted BATTERIES into the cavity, and exposed the wires. Then continued to turn the amp on, think he was Hendrix, play one note, and fry the guitar like bacon in the morning. Extra crispy.

So the guitar is kinda screwed, needs total electronic rework and I'm thinking about buying it, as he's selling it cheap.

tl;dr: average price of guitar electronics and rewiring.

if u want good pickups, whole cost would be around, but under $200, especially if u go used on the pups, and u do all the work urself. i have no idea how much a pro charges. if u want crap stock pickups or something, u can probably do it all for around $50-60.

It depends on what kind of guitar it is, what pickup(s) you want, the quality of parts you want and if you have to pay someone to do it for you. We're gonna need more info to give you an accurate estimate.

And next time please post wiring questions in the wiring thread. There's a link in my sig.

$$150-200+ for pickups. $100-$150 used for pickups. $2 for a jack. $6 for a like 500 guitars worth of wires. $2 per pot.

Done at a shop, ~$250. Done at home, ~$180. That is rather dependant on the cost of pickups though.

Provided you have all the hardware, the cost of labour would be anywhere from $40 - $90 I'd say.

If it's a strat style guitar though you could just buy a prewired pickguard and replace the jack. guitar fetish has the prewired pgs from like $32 up depending on what you want.

You could post on UG during breaks, watch youtube videos, read up on some theory, watch porn, or any computer-related activities you enjoy. There are other options as well, such as TV, sexual intercourse, or even just take a snack and water break.

No I'm not Jesus. I would aspire to be though. I think under circumstances he would let you pay less if you needed to.
