Alright, this probably sounds like a foolish thread idea, but I've been mildly interested by the minimalist approach of guitars with only one pick-up for a while now. Can anyone kindly recommend or simply list any models for me to look into? Let's assume that money is not an issue at the moment, but cheaper price tags would be somewhat preferred.

So far, the most promising guitar seems to be the Gretsch Junior Jet, followed by the Gibson Melody Maker.

Wow, thanks for the replies! LOL, I completely forgot about the Hello Kitty guitar, but I had seriously no idea that there was a Spongebob Squarepants one as well. Eww!

I'm not picky about a specific genre; I just kind of feel like having a minimalist one pick-up guitar for fun, but something at least slightly reputable would probably be preferred, even if the Hello Kitty guitar would probably quite a few laughs. Signature guitars probably aren't my thing, either; they're often unnecessarily expensive and this'll probably just be a simple back-up guitar for fun for me.

I suppose my motivation for wanting a single pick-up instrument is that sometimes I accidentally flick the pick-up selector switch of my Ibanez guitar. Yes, it's a sucky reason, but oh well.

By your profile pic i guess you're into pop-punk stuff. The tom de longe gibson e-335 is a good shout. Bit pricey though. His strat that he did with fender is not as good i reckon. Too bright. Les Paul Junior is good too.

But you might want to get a guitar with a great bridge humbucker and a neck humbucker aswell to give you a bit of versatility. Your taste in music can change and develop and you'll have to go out and buy another guitar if you suddenly take a shine to post-rock atmospheric stuff (which happened to me after my blink-182 obsession).

seriously, you can find this out yourself. go to thomann.de and select 1 hum or 1 single..

Ahh, LOL! I admire your observation, but I basically just haven't ever been bothered to change my avatar ever since I first signed up. Yes, I started off in a pop-punk phase in a kid, but I can proudly say that I highly enjoy Lady GaGa music now. See how nicely I've evolved? Just kidding (or am I?), but I'm not into signature models (except maybe the Paul Gilbert Ibanez..!). Thanks for the personalized suggestions, though! I very much appreciate it.
