Feeling pretty shitty today to be honest. But, I do have a spare 3.50 odd around which I want to spend on something to eat. Get something good together. Problem, my local supermarket Sainsburys is closed as it's a Sunday and I'm left with my Tesco Express.

I was thinking about getting two ciabatta rolls and some brie as I've got some oregano around and some pretty good ham. Put them in the microwave for a minute and they're always bloody awesome.

Well, what should it be then?

Just do that?

But if you want a suggestion pasta is always good..

3.50? If only Sainsbury's was open

Do you have any tinned tomatoes, veg stock and split red lentils by any chance? If you're lacking any of these, buy them, makes you a vat of tomato + lentil soup. Easy to make too, if I'm feeling kind I might even tell you how. Hoping you have some herbs or something, otherwise it can taste quite bland.

Make some chili, get a giant pan of a ground meat of your choice, throw in some spices, some veges and bam, good food
#22
I like your idea. It sounds good. But maybe throw it in the oven instead of the microwave.

Can of beans (NOT the reduced sugar and salt ones), some cheese and bread, and chilli flakes

1 grill the toast with the cheese on it to make cheese-on-toast
2 heat up beans
3 scatter liberal amounts of chilli flakes on cheese-on-toast
4 add beans
5 enjoy

All that for 3.50? Really?

Ahh so some good-for-you-great-tasting-comfort-food is what you're looking for TS?
Big bit of ciabatta, generous helping of tomoato puree, grated cheese, little bit of olive oil and basil on the top. It's easy to make and tastes great. Also takes your mind off the problems. Listen to music making it. I defy anyone to tell me they wouldn't find that fun.
#27
Get some mozzarella. Chicken. Tomato. Melt that inside your ciabatta.

I've made something even meater than that before.

You could probably get some pork chops or whatever for that, take them home, marinade them in whatever you have lying around (If you can, add some celery salt/garlic/rosemary/black pepper, etc to them while they marinade) and then fry 'em up in olive oil with some onion.

OK.

Oriental Sauce, goes great with fish fingers

Chili Sauce
and
Soy Sauce mixed together, it's great.

Tortilla meat melt
(more of a snack)

tortillas + cheese + salami/chorizo/ham or any meat like that, under the grill.

Cheese and Ham on toast

Easy, cheap, simple.

Cooked ham salad

Just made this one up, cook the ham under a grill and add it to some rocket and tomatoes with some olive oil as dressing for a pretty nice crunchy salad

Baked beans on toast with grated cheese

Simple, tastes good

Tinned Heinz pasta

Very cheap, doesn't taste too bad, either.

Stuffed Peppers

Stuff them with whatever you want, hollow out the peppers, put filling in, e.g. cheese and ham, whack 'em under the grill.

Pizza

Get a cheap 99p pizza base, or make one, tinned tomatoes blended, cheese, ham topping, all you would need to buy is a pizza base, and the tinned tomatoes if you have none

Bacon Sandwich

Cheap packet of bacon, cheap baguette, then you could whack in the ham and cheese, also

Burgers

You can either get those Rustlers microwave ones, or you could buy a packet of Birdseye burgers and some buns

Easy mince curry

Lamb or beef mince, chili powder/essences/sauce/flavoring, tinned tomatoes/puree, rice/noodles, potatoes/veg if wished.

Thanks
Tim.
