Ok so i have a ibanez rg120 and a bugera 6262 combo amp and i wanted to put some new pickups in.

So i was thinking either:

Dimarzio x2n bridge with Air Norton neck
Dimarzio Super Distortion bridge with Air Norton neck
Duncan Blackouts bridge and neck

I play mostly metal. Some blues and some cleans.

Any other recommendations would be great.

I really hate blackouts, go for the EMG 60-X/85-X combo. It's got the clarity and punch of the regular emg's, but it can be rolled back for the versatility of the blackouts without getting muddy like blackouts tend get at lower tunings.

i have a super dist./air norton combo in my les paul. the norton is an amazing neck pickup, the sd is pretty classic rock sounding but not in a bad way. the x2n would probably have more clarity with higher gain

to be honest i have never really been a fan of active pickups to much. My esp eclispe II has the EMG 85/60 combo in it. it sounds great but a bit too much output for the tunes i play, but i rock it every now and then.

my 2 Sparrow Twangmaster customs have a kent armstrong humbucker in the neck and a single in the bridge.

i also have a couple of other guitars that i use the Seymor Duncan JB/'59 combo. very nice pickups with a medium-high output. the Pearly Gates are good pickups as well and the PAF Pros from Dimarzio

Ok well for passive pickups whats better for metal but still kinda versatile:

x2n bridge and air norton neck?
Super Distortion bride and air norton neck?
D Activator X bridge and air norton neck?
Duncan Distortion bridge and neck pack?
Duncan Full shred bridge and neck pack?
Duncan JB bridge and neck pack?
