hey there. im new here n im looking for a new amp. i'd like it to be a combo amp that runs on tubes. i play lots of metallica so it needs a great crunch n a nice clean sound. my budget is $1000 at the most

What era of Metallica?

Are there any other bands that have a tone you'd like to emulate?

Are you willing to go used?

Good way to be, sounds like me. But I still buy used guitar equipment. Going used in the guitar world is frequently a pretty good idea.

Are you gigging?

I got a Hartke with an excellent crunch for around $200. It may not be a Marshall, but it has a real good sound to it and works fine for me. I don't remember the model name but you could probably go to Hartke's website or something.

if you look used, you could get a mesa mark III head and cabinet or combo
periphery/bulb!

gear:
Ibanez RG7321 w/ D-sonic in bridge

Peavey 5150 mk ii & b52 4x12 cab

line 6 podxt for recording

Head and Cab for $130? You don't need a head and cabinet, you need a psychological examination.
