So... I've had this beauty for a couple days now but I just now got up the nerve to do the mods I had planned. (Perhaps you've seen my previous threads with wiring questions )

Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus Top - Transparent blue finish

I LOVE how this guitar feels. I'm a bigger guy with some pretty meaty hands, and this neck feels better than anything I've ever played..... It feels like sex.. while baked... on acid.

I swapped the pups for an SD JB in the bridge and an SD Jazz in the neck, which is an AMAZING upgrade. I'm a complete noob when it comes to wiring but after hours of obsessive research online and messing around with my dad's old soldering iron, I managed to wire up two push/pull pots to coil split both of the buckers (it's a 60w so idk how I didn't fry anything..)

The only flaw with the guitar was the tuners.. didn't stay in tune for ****. I swapped them with some gibson tuners. There might as well be locking tuners on there, this thing stays in tune forever now..

I also changed the knobs.. I just didn't like the standard bronze colored bonnet knobs, especially for the push/pull.. sue me lol

Only a few pics, the camera was dying lol

Next time I get paid I'll be getting my Eminence Man 'O War speaker and perhaps the Jimi Hendrix fuzzface...
Epi Les Paul (SD JB and SD Jazz (Both coil-split))
Ibanez RG Prestige (w/ killswitch)
Schecter C-1 Hellraiser
Valveking 112 (w/ Man O War)
Dunlop Crybaby Wah
Dunlop allas Arbiter Fuzz Face
BOSS DD-3 Delay
BOSS ML-2 MetalCore Distortion

Wow, that guitar is stellar. Reminds me of a concert I went to a few years ago. A local band was playing and the guitarist had a blue LP and thats when I knew I wanted to play guitar. Stunning man. Absolutely stunning.

Thats pretty nice dude, i was looking at doing something similar, take a epi and put some qaulity parts in it, i bet it sounds great with those duncans.

Just curious though, what neck profile is it? Is it the thick 50s or the really thin 60s?

the black/white pups really go nice with the blue finish. it's gorgeous. i've been thinking about putting the same pup configuration in my epi lp stand +. mines heritage cherry sunburst. i'd imagine the black/white would go in good.

hngd! i guess...lol
Save Gibson

^Do it, if you want Gibson to stop with the poor QC and terrible new guitars...
#26
Man, that's a real beauty. Makes me rethink my whole not getting a Les Paul stance.
