personnaly, i'd save up a little more and i'd go use. You can get a Mesa Single rectifier for exemple at aroung 700$ if you're lucky and a good Marshall cab for like....500$ for a total of around 1200$-1300$ so that's what i would do.

Krank, i like them a lot. I like the Rev 1 but they cost a lot and i know a lot of people who don't like them so i would suggest trying them out before buying. Peavey, i used to have a 5150 but sold it(f*ck me) and it was awesome! That's why i want another one. Other than the 5150, i never really played peavey and for Raven...never played one either.

You woul'd need a distortion pedal with a Marshall. It all depends which model you would take.

Head and Cab for $130? You don't need a head and cabinet, you need a psychological examination.

I'll prob go with that Mesa half if I can spit the money up, peaveys are way way too expensive.

You don't need a half stack, a 50w 212 tube combo would more than suffice. And if you can afford a Mesa, you can afford a Peavey

It's a used 1000 dollar one. Half stack. Peaveys are combo amps for like 2000.

^I'm not exactly sure where you live (if it's Georgia, USA then you are definitely wrong and don't know anything about amp prices) but there are plenty of peavey combos under a grand, especially used.

TS, I really think you should educate yourself on amps and what each brand/model sounds like before you spend $1000. Go to a shop and try out every amp there so you get an idea of the sounds your after.

Oh, and seeing as though you mentioned it, don't buy a Raven...

Wow, you searched Peavey at Guitar Center. You could've atleast filtered it to tube combos by Peavey. And again, the prices you're looking at are ALL NEW. Search up Peavey on your local Craigslist, you will find deals, and you obviously haven't done so and only come off as an idiot because you think you know everything. 9 times out of 10, Peavey will be cheaper than Mesa, used or new.
