sup dudes, ive been playing for a little over 2 years and have a hit a brick wall when it comes to learning new material. i was told by the metal forum to start learning some classic stuff to improve my skills, so here i am!

yes i know there's a reccomendation thread, but it says that is for people looking for new music to listen to, im looking for stuff that's easy to learn!

please please please don't suggest anything that's not in standard e, i hate having to tune the floyd rose down!

thanks in advance

What Classic Rock bands do you like?
How to achieve Frank Zappa's guitar tone:

Step 1: Buy a Gibson SG
Step 2: Insert Green Ringer, EQ, 3 dead squirrels and a microwave into said SG
Step 3: Plug in and freak the **** out.

A lot of C.C.R. (Creedence Clearwater Revival if you are not familiar), is good stuff to start out with.
Please don't confront me with my failures. I had not forgotten them.

trying to play metallica a lot but 50% of their stuff is too fast etc. a little bit of rage against the machine and some muse, and the rest is just random songs really, but i dont have much variety!

Black sabbath's debut would be a good idea. you could also try deep purple's machine head, that had some good riffs.
